Consumed throughout the Mediterranean basin, we know that the Greek Theophrastus reported that his compatriots called the carob, the Egyptian fig. Our partner, located on the island of Crete, in a small village called Argyroupoli, is a family business that mainly focuses on the production of various organic products from carob pods. Dried and crushed at low temperature thus sublimating its flavor which recalls the taste of caramel, cinnamon or even that of coconut.

PROPERTIES
The carob powder is naturally gluten-free and rich in mucilaginous fibres, it sweetens (close to caramel flavor) thickens and gives softness to the preparations.
The potassium and calcium it contains contribute to normal muscle function. Potassium contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system and the maintenance of normal blood pressure. Calcium contributes to a normal energy metabolism and the normal functioning of digestive enzymes. It is necessary for the maintenance of normal bone structure and teeth.
USAGE
Carob flour happily comes well with our daily meals, for example:
• as a cocoa substitute
• to thicken a preparation
• to sprinkle on the meal (like a spice)
• to mix with drinks
• as desserts, or other dishes...
2 to 6 g or ½ to 2 teaspoons per plate or cup.
