This berry growing in the Andes, also called aguaymanto, was very popular among pre-Columbian people. They included golden berry to their meals. The habit of using it in cooking got lost after the « Spanish Conquest ». At the end of the 20th century, nutritionists and some chefs started to get interested in superfoods which allowed golden berries to jump in our plates!
